As of today, it's official that KARA's Kang Ji Young is out of Iris 2 cast or actually she was never really in the cast, she was apparently 'considering' the offer. However, since Kang Ji Young didn't get to participate with the overseas filming that took place in December and her Japanese activities keep being the never ending obstruction every now and then. The possibilities of her appearing on the drama went from considering to nothing. Kamelia's heart crashing everywhere across the globe I heard.
Now with airing date nearing, Taewon Entertainment is hurrying on getting somebody else to replace her. It's going to be another idol from a well-known girl group, that is certain. Rumor has it that T-ara's Soyeon is highly being considered as a replacement. The word T-ara is definitely cringeworthy to most of us k-drama lovers. A lot of bipolarness with T-ara going on you know. But what's up with relentlessly bringing in the actor-dols? To bring in the ratings? Yeap, sure for the first couple episodes but for the long run, it's not going to be good. I was already skeptical enough with how Iris 2's storyline gonna be and so another good actress as an addition to the star-studded cast should be a weapon to convince the viewers, say, Jung So Min.
Although I think she's probably not going to be considered in this drama as she has never been in such blockbuster and she doesn't offer a large fanbase as what actordols might be able too. My view however Jung So Min is definitely talented enough for this but it won't be a surefire this is going to be good even after casting her. Since it's still impossible to tell whether Iris 2 will have it's own twist in the story by casting Jung So Min, I'm still putting my fingers crossed on this one.
