The significance of idols getting college education

Education is one of the basic necessities in life. Without education, one may not be able to survive properly in life but education is a big term. It does not just limit to the basic knowledge you learn in school, education also comes in form of experience as it still educates you to be a better human being as a whole. Many well-known K-pop idols decided to forgo their college education and more are even contemplating to do so in order to focus on their careers. To name a few, Miss A Suzy, BoA and IU. Packed schedule every other day is tough enough for these idols and juggling school all together? Might not be a brilliant idea. 

Is college education important to celebrities? Yes, it is important but that does not mean without a proper education in school one will not gain success. For example, BoA. She debuted at such a young age and wasn't able to attend classes in school like other ordinary students could. When the time came for her to choose her college, she decided to not pursue college education because she does not want to be a ghost student where she won't be able to at fully commit to it. Boa also said that education background is not important in a career like hers. I can agree on that as Psy who only attended classes in total of 5 times during his Berkelee days, is now a globally well-known singer and even placing at number 2 just behind Maroon 5 on the Billboard Chart. 

Education is a subjective matter, one can gain education through experiences and college education which offers theory education may not be much of a help to a singer or actor. 

Although not much, college education is still of a help. Proper education is a self-enlightening process. One can be wiser with experience but one needs proper education in order to know how to be able to fix themselves the right way with the right technic. Since not everyone is capable to multi-task and be excellent at both (Exhibit A : Lee Seung Gi), maybe one day these celebrities who decided to forgo college when they were younger should take a break from their career and try sitting down for classes. Lee Seung Gi who is now one of the highest-earning celebrities in Korea proved that college education is non-negligible and it's importance still prevails as he enrolled into Dongguk School of Graduates. Not just Seung Gi, Verbal Jint too recommended Miss A Suzy to take a college admission first and take a temporary absence in order to focus on music. He is now a law student at Hanyang University and has previously graduated from nation's top university, Seoul National University with Economics major. This shows that college education will be a beneficial factor sooner or later to idols as you can't always stay bimbo forever can you? We need more intelligence in the music industry and I think education do play a huge part in driving them to the top.
