Gary and Gil leaving variety shows is still not for sure. There are chances for Gary to not leave Running Man as the producers themselves mentioned that "It's ridiculous. Gary's not leaving". Despite so, Leessang has yet to speak up regarding this matter after their twitter announcements.
But what worry me more are the international fans of Gary and Gil who know things only at the tip of the iceberg. As I've mentioned before, I am not taking sides and as what I have came to known, even before the official cancellation of Super 7 concert, problems have spread like wildfire. It was only right for Gary and Gil to withdraw themselves from their respective variety shows to put off the fire. Yes, there are netizens who went overboard with their thoughts. There are and very little portion of them. Please don't take it as a whole korean community criticising them. There are many more netizens who are supporting them with all their might. I am clearly brave enough to say this because I know many koreans are not blaming them at all cost.
But what if it happened?
If Gary and Gil are for sure leaving Running Man and Infinity Challenge respectively, I am not keen that the dynamic of the shows will go on as usual especially with my previous experience like Kang Ho Dong leaving KBS 1 night 2 days. He was in luck that he handed things to someone as talented as Lee Seung Gi and Lee Seung Gi's popularity was a big help to cover things up. Running Man and Infinity Challenge on the other hand are already handled by professionals, notably Yoo Jae Suk so any change of cast is always adaptable. Eventhough it is an exhausting matter to deal with, the cast members that remain still left with no choice but to make up for Gary and Gil's places. Will there be replacements for Gary and Gil ? Soon, maybe not. In future, maybe yes.
But what if Leessang has not announced their withdrawal from variety shows? Will things be different now? Maybe there are chances that things would have die down by now, but maybe not also.
